Paris in the sumer

Lots of people travel to Paris every summer. So do my friends, in the last 2 months we had almost every week-end friends over. It is fun on the one hand, because you haven´t seen your friends in a long time, but on the other hand it is really annoying after a while. Changing sheets every monday, cleaning, not having your living room to yourself, doing the same tourist stuff every week-end again - after a while not so much fun. Anyways, some visitors were more challenging then others. Especially when they tell you on saturday night that they actually want to stay a day longer. Well, my favorite visitor this summer was Eryn! She was just great, it was fun walking around with her talking about the world for hours. I really wish she could come over again, but Portland is not really around the corner.
My parents were the last visitors, but that´s easy, too. You get nice dinner and don´t have to do so much tourist stuff, because they know Paris by heart. Now that everyone´s gone, you would think it´s time for us to have a little time off and go somewhere. Unfortunatelly someone has to be in Holgers office. They are only 3 people in the german department, and the other 2 people are now gone in August. So we have to wait until September. Another long month of August is waiting for me. Because everyone is gone, I will not find a job during this month. Luckily the weather is better now, and I can do some outdoor activities, like swimming, running, riding my bike, playing tennis... But as everyone is gone, you can hardly get food. All the little boulangeries, the charcuteries the vegetable store everything is closed for the summer. So all you can get is Monoprix. That´s the local grocerystore, a little overprized supermarket. I really hate August in Paris. All you can do is park for free. Everything else is closed, the prices are even higher than normal, because there are only tourists in town. Everyone else is in their nice houses near some nice beach. An the Tour de France is over. Can I please skip this month?

Oh my gosh, I am blushing! I was your favorite visitor?? I don't believe that for a minute! I was probably your most boring visitor! I loved it, though. You guys were fabulous hosts. We will definitely have to get together next summer when I go back to Spain.
