THIS IS WHERE WE LIVE

I need a job

I just read Eryn´s last post on her blog, and I´m jealous. I want to go back to my job. Luckily I can for another week, but after that??? What am I going to do?? I checked like all the online job markets and gues what: there is not a single job for a lawyer in Augsburg. But I´m willing to go to Munich, because it only takes like 35 min. to go. But even there, not much. It´s so frustrating. The worst thing is, I get to do all the crap work, like going to the town Hall for administrative stuff (been there 4 times), taking care of health insurance problems (I´m not going into details), taking care of other stupid stuff which just annoys me. Then I went to Ikea 5 times last week and I tell you guys I´m a pro now in building all those things up. There´s still stuff left which need to be arranged, but I´m sick of unpacking. So I let go...
To do a little bit for myself, I started working out last week. The town sucks, but there´s nature and I found a jogging path along a river where you can just run forever. So I though yea that´s good. But since last week it has first stormed, so that you were afraid a falling tree would hit you and since then it´s snowing. I´m not going running in the snow when I cannot see the branches on the ground, which fell down during the storm. So I´m stuck at home. Luckily I bought some 2 kg weights for workout in Paris, that gives me a little exercise.
I really miss structured days. If I don´t have structure, I don´t really do anything.
Please, someone get me a job!!!

BAVARIA

So I´m back in Germany. Actually it´s not really Germany, it´s Bavaria. Seriously, this is another country.
I didn´t post too much during my 2,5 years in Paris, maybe because living there was quite normal. Of course the French have also funny, sometimes annoying attitudes, but all in all life was pretty good there.
What I have discovered here in Bavaria so far, seems to be more shareable. So I decided to write a little more about my life in Southern Germany.
Just yesterday I went to the bakery to get some breakfast. I knew this cafe/bakery/pastryshop because Holger and I have already had breakfast there when we were looking for appartments. So I got there and said to the Lady: I would like to have 3 rolls (little bread things Germans like to eat for breakfast). The whole store was full of bread, rolls, pastries, cakes... The Lady replies: I´m sorry we don´t have rolls. I go: WHAT? but you have lots of rolls here. The Lady turms around and asks another Lady and then tells me that they don´t sell them. Whatever... So I go to this other bakery across the street and see a croissant, which looks not too awefull. I say: I would like a croissant. The new Lady replies: an empty? I again: WHAT? A CROISSANT. She ´s like: yes, an empty one? I say: a regular croissant. She explaines by making a weired face that they have croissants with vanilla or chocolate fillings or empty ones. So I say again, one regular croissant which leads to her answer: an empty one! OK!! That croissant wasn´t even good.
I also have to learn a new langauge here.
roll:
German=Brötchen
Bavarian=Semmel

Summer 2008 Part 1 - Yellowstone

This year, we traveled far to the great USA !!
I have to admid, the value of the dollar was one big argument to go.

We flew into Salt Lake City: Mormon-town!
This is the view from our hotel room early in the morning around 6 am. We had 8 hours of timedifference.

The next day:

By 8:30 am we aleady checked out Temple Square and talked to Mormons who were trying to converd everyone there. At 9:30, we had enough of that and went shopping in the open air down town mall. There, we also visited the Olympic Plaza. After we spend lots of money - but still saved lots of money because of the dollar - we drove up to Yellowstone.

The first night we slept in this cute cabin and had our first campfire + BBQ.
The next day we made our first stop at Mammoth Hot Springs:

Then we went to the Yellowstone river and took a little hike:

The first night at Canyon Campground

We also took a hike up to Mount Washburn:

Later that day we went to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River:

Then we checked out all the geysers and hot springs.
