Claude Monet

Last Sunday we made a little trip to Giverny. For all of you who don´t know what that is, it´s a tiny town where Claude Monet lived and painted. You might have seen one of his famous waterlilly paintings.

As the weather is awesome at the moment, we decided that we have to get out of the smoggy city and drove about 45 min. to Giverny, walked around town and visited his old house and the garden.

Skiing in France

We took a week off and went skiing in the Alps. This year we tried to get to know the French Alps. As you propably know the Alps are a bit different in every country. So in France there are the highest mountains. This was good for us, because skiing in late March can be difficult. Snow conditions might be really bad. But we were lucky and stayed in a crappy appartment on 2050m right on the slopes and could ski up to 3150m. Air is thin there, but snow is good. Unfortunatelly snow below 2000m was bad and could only be compared to waterskiing.

Anyways, we had the greatest weather ever and got a nice tan in the face. Our Skiing resort/area was "La Plagne". It´s huge, we could hardly ski the slopes twice. The best thing was, it´s connected to another area called "les Arc". You have to take a double floor ski gondola, which can carry up to 80 people, to get to the other area. There you have another glacier and the olympic slope from 1992 Albertville.

But what I liked best, was that you could see Mont Blanc most of the time.
